Over the past two decades, arbitration has increasingly been adopted as a preferred mechanism for resolving cross-bordercommercial disputes globally, either on a stand-alone basis or in conjunction with other forms of ADR. The year 2024witnessed a significant uptick in the use of arbitration to resolve commercial disputes in Nigeria. This came about because of a substantial increase in foreign direct investment into Nigeria and Nigeria’s expanding participation in intra-Africa and global trade and investment, where parties seek efficient, enforceable solutions for resolving complex disputes.
